Welcome Our school National curriculum Staff Gallery Testimonials Contact 2cBack Year II Curriculum Year II will not only see the continuation of the curriculum outlined in Key Stage 1, but also the commencement of our Czech Programme (in conjunction with the MŠMT), for those who wish to avail of it. Year II curriculum includes: English – Reading, writing, spelling, and communication.Mathematics – Calculations, measurements, shape and space, use of appropriate language and interpreting data. History – Famous people and their contributions to society. Famous historical events.Geography – Agriculture, Introduction to Maps and the environment.Science – Plant life, electricity, change, forces, the Earth and Beyond.Design and Technology – Design and make projects related to topic work. Work with a range of materials and develop knowledge and understanding regarding health and safety.Music – songs and instruments, composing and appraisal of music.Art and Design – Drawing, Painting, Design and Modelling. Techniques and theme based art.Physical Education – Swimming, games, gymnastics and dance activities.ICT – Technology and computer based learning.SPHE – Social responsibility, confidence building exercises and healthy living. Homework:Children will be expected to read at home and practice spelling, phonics and key words. Extension and reinforcement work will be sent home if necessary.
